The 2nd ICDL Age Group Competition was held on 21st December, 2008 at
Pui Ching Education Center from 10Am to 12 noon.
The aim of the competition is to draw the interest of the students in computer learning and at the same time, to test their ability on some specific subjects.
We received positive feedbacks from various primary and secondary schools. The number of students attending the competition has reached more than 20.
Candidates were divided into two groups with aged 12 or below joining group C and aged 13 - 15 joining group B. Group C candidates were given tests on Windows XP and PowerPoint. Group B candidates were given tests on Word Processing and Excel.
All students had joined the competition for the first time. Some of them found it interesting while others found it difficult. Most of the students were able to finish 2 tests within an hour.
Highlight of the day was when Mr. Alex Wong, Managing Director of ITTQC, presented the prizes to the winners, we could hear students screaming aloud, cheering and clapping excitedly for their schoolmates.
Group C winners were Yip Ming-yan, with a total score of 149 and Ng Wei-tat, with a total score of 141. Group B winner was Yuen Chi-sing with a total score of 155.
The above winners could all get a HK$500 cash coupon for their school fees, book fees or other related activities.
